Do you need to send your invoices, and remittance advices by email on Iris Kashflow?

Kashflow by default will send emails from their mail server.  With scam emails on the rise, which say they are from one of the many accounting software providers, together with attachments which may have viruses, people will be wary and in many cases just delete the email and the invoice/remittance advice.  Some ISP’s may even block the emails so they never arrive.

This can be easily be solved, by sending all the emails from Kashflow via your own mail server. It is simple to set up – as you only need to configure Kashflow to use your email account. .

To do this, you need to first go to the Settings tab on your Kashflow Account.  Then scroll to the bottom of the page, where you will find the last item in the Configuration Settings section, is called “SMTP Configuration”.  Click on this, and add your SMTP configuration. If you are not sure what they are, go to your mailbox account settings and look up the SMTP settings for this.  It will be the same.  Don’t forget to tick the “Override KashFlow emails with SMTP configuration below” and then save.

Finally, there is an option to send a test email which you can send to your personal email address, Cc/Bcc too, to check it works.
